Overview

The Azrieli Foundation is seeking a fully bilingual Bookkeeper who is fluent in both English and Hebrew. Full proficiency in reading writing and interpreting financial documents in both languages is essential. This role is responsible for reviewing and translating financial documentation verifying alignment with budgets and contracts, reconciling transactions and identifying any discrepancies or irregularities. The Bookkeeper will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, clarity and integrity of financial reporting across the Foundation\'s international projects. This role will report to the Chief Legal Officer and work closely on a day-to-day basis with the Foreign Activities Managers.

Responsibilities
  • Process, interpret and translate financial documents in both Hebrew and English.
  • Review spreadsheets and other documentation to confirm consistency with general ledger entries and ensure expenditures align with approved budgets.
  • Identify and flag inconsistencies, discrepancies, irregularities and missing or unclear items.
  • Reconcile financial reports with books and records, cross-referencing against supporting documentation such as invoices and receipts.
  • Escalate financial concerns and anomalies to managers for further assessment.
  • Maintain organized auditable records of reconciliations, communications and document reviews.
  • Prepare clear, concise written reports summarizing reconciliation findings.
  • Collaborate with managers to uphold financial and compliance standards, ensuring all paperwork is complete and accurate.
Required Qualifications & Experience
  • 2 years experience in bookkeeping, accounting, or financial reconciliation roles
  • Fluency in Hebrew and English with the ability to read, interpret and accurately translate financial documents in both languages
  • Demonstrated ability to review and assess financial documents and identify inconsistencies
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
