Job summary

A beverage company in York Region is seeking an experienced accounting professional to handle financial reports, manage accounts payable, and perform bank reconciliations. The ideal candidate must possess a post-secondary diploma or degree in Finance or Accounting, have at least 12 months of work experience in an accounting role, and demonstrate strong organizational skills. Proficiency in Quick Books and Microsoft Office is essential, alongside a solid understanding of Canadian Accounting Principles and Tax Law. This position is open to anyone legally authorized to work in Canada.

Qualifications

  • 12 months of relevant work experience is required, preferably in an accounting position.
  • Knowledge of Canadian Accounting Principles is required.
  • Knowledge of Canadian Tax Law (Income Tax, GST/HST, Payroll) is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Oversee accounts payable, including invoice processing.
  • Prepare financial reports, including ROI and loan accounts.

Job description
Job Duties:
  • Perform daily and monthly bank reconciliations
  • Manage and track inventory levels
  • Oversee accounts payable, including invoice processing and timely payments
  • Track and manage rent payments, liaise with landlords
  • Reconcile daily cash transactions
  • Prepare financial reports, including ROI and loan accounts
  • Conduct loan reconciliations
  • Collaborate with CFOs to review profit and loss statements
  • Record and track company expenses
  • Prepare and file monthly tax returns for U.S. stores
  • Manage payments for utilities, tickets, and fruit vendors
Required Qualifications and Experience:
  • Education: Completion of a Post Secondary Diploma (at least 2-year) or Degree is required. Program in Finance or Accounting is preferred.
  • Work Experience: 12 months of relevant work experience is required. Previous work experience in an accounting position is preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills;
  • Demonstrate ability to be flexible, prioritize tasks and escalate issues based on relative importance and urgency;
  • Ability to multi-task and operate effectively in an environment of frequent interruptions and tight deadlines;
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information in a professional manner. Police background check may be required.
  • Strong computer software proficiency with Quick Books and Microsoft Office applications.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of Canadian Accounting Principles is required.
  • Knowledge of Canadian Tax Law (Income Tax, GST/HST, Payroll) is preferred.
