Overview

Job Title: Bilingual (English, Canadian French) Translation Proofreader

Location Address: Quebec or Toronto

Working Arrangement: Hybrid 3 days on site Tuesday/Wednesday/Thursday. Must be able to commit to hybrid, this is a requirement.

Contract Duration: 07/28/2025 to 01/27/2026 - 6 month duration from start

Possibility of extension/ conversion to FTE? Unknown

Number of Positions: 1

Schedule Hours: 9am-5pm Monday-Friday; standard 37.5 hrs/week

Story Behind the Need

Business group: The successful candidate will join the Marketing Operations team and support our Wealth and Asset Management business.

Role Objective

The ideal candidate will ensure the accuracy, consistency, and adherence to financial industry best practices, corporate messaging, and style guides in all French translations for a Quebec audience. They will have a strong command of the French language, exceptional attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of linguistic nuances.

Typical Day in Role
  • Proofread and edit translated content from English to Canadian French for accuracy, grammar, spelling, and adherence to corporate messaging and style guides
  • Confirm the precision of translated material and make necessary edits to ensure accuracy and fluency
  • Ensure consistency in terminology, tone, and style across all translations
  • Collaborate with content creators and marketing to provide feedback and ensure high-quality, culturally appropriate translations
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the French language in Canada, particularly Quebec, and adapt translations accordingly
  • Develop and maintain French language resources, including glossaries and style guides, to support translation consistency
  • Review keyword strategies for web content to ensure the translation captures the essence from an SEO perspective
  • Collaborate with the advanced analytics team to build a glossary
Candidate Requirements / Must Have Skills
  1. Fluency in Canadian French and English, with excellent written communication skills in both languages and a deep understanding of linguistic nuances and cultural context. Strong understanding of the French language in Canada, particularly Quebec.
  2. Experience in proofreading and editing French translations in a professional setting
  3. Strong attention to detail and exceptional grammar and spelling skills in French

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with content and marketing
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, under tight deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously
Nice-To-Have Skills
  • Experience in the financial industry or wealth and asset management and/or familiarity with financial industry-specific terminology and corporate messaging *strongly preferred
Education

• Bachelors degree preferred in Language, Communications or similar OR equivalent work experience
