Position Summary

The Benefits Administrator provides front-line support to plan members and executes core benefits administration functions. Reporting to the Director of Benefits and working collaboratively within a team environment, this role ensures the efficient delivery of member services and supports the broader benefits team through a variety of administrative responsibilities.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the first point of contact for member inquiries via phone, email, and online, delivering prompt, courteous, and knowledgeable responses.
  • Address a wide range of benefit-related questions, including coverage details, life event changes, salary updates, and plan navigation.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date member data across internal systems and external provider platforms.
  • Process enrolments, terminations, and member updates; coordinate monthly premium reconciliation and reporting.
  • Monitor member premium arrears, issue notices, and collaborate with Finance staff to ensure accurate tracking and resolution.
  • Support dependent audits, member communications, and compliance tracking.
  • Provide general administrative support to the benefits team, including document preparation, scheduling, and file management.
  • Assist in the development of member education materials and participate in cross-functional projects.
  • Prepare financial and membership reports, reconcile contribution files, and support wellness and retirement plan administration.
  • Handle sensitive information with discretion, professionalism, and confidentiality.
Qualifications
  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Human Resources Management, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in group benefits administration, insurance, or a related analytical role.
  • Experience managing benefit enrolments, terminations, and member data in a high-volume environment.
Skills

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint; familiarity with HRIS systems and membership databases.
