Job summary

A bakery specializing in Egyptian bread in York Region, Markham is seeking an experienced baker to prepare authentic Egyptian bread and pastries. The ideal candidate should have over 5 years of experience in Egyptian artisanal baking, supervise baking personnel, and manage the ordering of supplies. This is a permanent, full-time position with a wage of $19 per hour.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years or more of experience in Egyptian artisanal baking.
• Manage the requisition and ordering of materials, equipment, and supplies.
• Supervise baking personnel and kitchen staff; train staff; and organize and maintain inventory.

Responsibilities

• Prepare authentic Egyptian bread and pastries.
• Mix and prepare ingredients for dough, prepare batters for sweets and desserts.
• Prepare dough for assembly and baking, including kneading, stretching and forming each pita by hand to ensure perfect shape.
• Operate mixing and baking machinery.
• Oversee and supervise baking personnel.
