Role

Backend Engineer

Location: Canada / US remote

Rate: 75-80 USD per hr (DOE)

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain scalable and reliable backend services.
• Develop APIs and systems that handle millions of requests daily, ensuring low latency and high availability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including frontend engineers, product managers and data scientists to deliver impactful features.
• Optimize system performance and scalability to support our growing user base.
• Troubleshoot and debug production issues, ensuring timely resolutions and system reliability.
• Write clean, maintainable and testable code following best practices.
• Work with distributed systems, microservices and event-driven architectures.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies and propose innovative solutions for improving our platform.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements :

• 3 years of experience in backend software development.
• Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Python, Go, Java or C.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems, microservices architecture and RESTful APIs.
• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP or Azure.
• Familiarity with databases (both SQL and NoSQL) and caching solutions like PostgreSQL, Redis or MongoDB.
• Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms and system design principles.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a passion for clean, efficient code.
• Contractors will assist with the clients Wallet backend development.
• Candidates must be proficient in Go language.
• Candidates should have experience as users of non-custodial crypto wallets such as Phantom or MetaMask.
• Ideally candidates have experience working with blockchain APIs like Alchemy and CoinGecko.
• Preferably worked on blockchain-related products before (e.g., OKX, Phantom).
