Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced AWS Data Engineer Lead to design, build, and lead scalable data platforms and pipelines in the cloud. The ideal candidate will have strong hands‑on expertise in AWS services, data engineering best practices, and the ability to lead technical teams while collaborating closely with business and analytics stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and development of scalable, secure, and high-performance data pipelines on AWS
  • Architect end‑to‑end data solutions using AWS services such as S3, Glue, Redshift, Athena, Lambda, EMR, and Step Functions
  • Build and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using Python, PySpark, and SQL
  • Lead and mentor junior data engineers; conduct code reviews and enforce best practices
  • Collaborate with product, analytics, and business teams to translate requirements into technical solutions
  • Ensure data quality, governance, security, and compliance standards are met
  • Optimize performance, cost, and reliability of AWS data platforms
  • Support CI/CD, monitoring, and troubleshooting of data workflows
  • Drive adoption of modern data engineering tools and frameworks.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • 10+ years of experience in data engineering, with 4+ years on AWS
  • Strong hands‑on experience with AWS data services (S3, Glue, Redshift, EMR, Athena)
  • Proficiency in Python, PySpark, and SQL
  • Experience with orchestration tools such as Airflow or AWS Step Functions
  • Strong leadership and stakeholder communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with streaming technologies (Kafka, Kinesis)
  • Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation)
  • Exposure to Snowflake or Databricks on AWS
  • AWS certifications (AWS Data Analytics, Solutions Architect)
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments
