Qualifications

Autonomous System Command Builder

The Autonomous System Command Builder is responsible for the effective utilization of the Autonomous Haulage fleet using Minestar Command. The Builder is the “hands on” implementer of the mine model within MineStar Command for hauling.

Key Responsibilities

Area 1: Mine model validation and accuracy.

  • Ensure the integrity of the mine model (road network, locations, equipment etc.) and that it accurately reflects mine operations reality.
  • Plan, validate and update any physical changes within the Autonomous Operating Zone (AOZ) to the Mine Model either in the field or control center.
  • Follow and trend key productivity metrics.
  • Report and action any in‑cycle interruptions caused by field/operational conditions such as road quality, road design, setup of load and dump areas.
  • Ensure all dynamic areas are ready and available for use.
  • Accurate completion of documentation and data entry where necessary.
  • Monitor operations/processes and system performance to ensure key performance indicators are met.

Area 2: Operational excellence.

  • Seek opportunities to improve field haul fleet operations.
  • Commit to continuous learning and improvement.
  • Continually seek to improve your skills as an Autonomous System Command Builder.
  • Watch for inefficiencies or problems.
  • Investigate causes of cycle issues.
  • Ensure problems and inefficiencies are shared with others.
  • Work collaboratively to troubleshoot and resolve problems.
  • Consider risk along the five dimensions (throughput, time, quality, sustainability and cost).

Area 3: Work collaboratively with others to deliver operational reliability.

  • Form close working relationships with Mine Operators, Supervisor and Control teams to drive efficiency of the Autonomous Haulage fleet.
  • Coordinate with other team members on site to meet shift deliverables.
  • Mentor and train new team members.
  • Participate in and lend your expertise to the team.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively using the tools provided.
  • Ensure equipment logs and shift logs are accurate and complete.
  • Ensure any deficiencies are communicated to the appropriate team members for follow up.
  • Participate in multi-disciplinary teams to deliver on our commitment to our team, our communities, the environment, and our shareholders.
Minimum Requirements and Nice To Haves

Minimum Qualifications, Formal Education, Certifications or Equivalents

  • Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • College diplomas or university degrees in a related field such as civil engineering, surveying, robotics, or autonomous systems is considered an asset.

Work Experience – Nature & Length

  • 2 or more years of experience in an open pit mining environment, civil engineering, survey or autonomous operations environment.
  • Previous exposure to Autonomous Builder role will be highly regarded, but not essential.

Additional Qualifications – Competency Requirements

  • Advanced computer literacy.
  • Sound knowledge of open pit mining fundamentals and autonomous mining operations.
  • Able to visualize efficient roadways (shortest routes, fewest curves, fewest stop points).
