Job summary

A leading company in Western Canada seeks an automation professional skilled in PLC and SCADA programming. The ideal candidate will possess a diploma or degree in electrical or automation fields, along with at least two years of relevant experience. Strong programming skills and excellent communication abilities are essential, with preference given to those licensed with APEGS/TPSK.

Qualifications

Job description

As an automation professional, the desired applicant will share MPE’s vision to provide industry leading services to our clients throughout Saskatchewan and Western Canada. The position is primarily focused on PLC and SCADA programming, commissioning, and networking configurations, however, a diverse background in automation and control system planning, design, control narrative generation, troubleshooting, and maintenance is also required.

Mandatory Qualifications are as follows:

  • Programming experience with a variety of automation software and hardware.
  • Willingness to travel to support maintenance and commissioning tasks.
  • Availability for PLC, SCADA Systems, and related communications emergency support.
  • Diploma or Degree in electrical or automation related program from an accredited post-secondary institution.

Preference will be placed for candidates that also have the following qualifications:

  • Licensed or eligible for licensing or certification with APEGS/TPSK.
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Background in electrical & instrumentation systems.
  • Experience with municipal & industrial process systems.
  • Experience with industrial networking & cybersecurity.
  • Experience working as a member of a multi-disciplinary engineering team.

Minimum two years combined experience in related positions to the above preference and mandatory qualifications.
