The Role

Responsibilities:

  • You will be exposed to many types of businesses in various industries on an extremely deep level
  • You will work with advisors and other team members to understand business drivers and key information
  • You will assist and participate in strategic planning day sessions for new and existing clients
  • You will analyze monthly client financial results using firm generated financial analysis models and tools
  • You will learn to build and update financial models
  • You will review monthly client models for anomalies and identify financial issues
  • You will meet with clients monthly to review current financial results and update forecasts
  • You will prepare financial forecast packages and files for financing initiatives
  • You will support the controller/bookkeeper within our clients’ businesses as required when they have questions, as well as helping them make their month-end processes more stream-lined and robust
  • Your progression will move you towards assisting, advising and directing the owners of private business in making the right financial and strategic decisions which will enhance growth of their business
  • You will pursue and participate in learning opportunities
  • Begin to develop professional network
Qualifications
  • Industry experience in an accounting role (controller or senior accountant) with full-cycle accounting is required
  • Final stages or completed CPA
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel
  • Creative ability to conceptualize and articulate new approaches and solutions
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills as you will be dealing with many different types of people and personalities
  • Ability to manage numerous clients to which you will assist on a monthly basis
  • Ability to listen to your clients and their actual and/or perceived needs, and only then begin to construct possible solutions
  • Demonstrate knowledge and ability to read and understand financial data, previous experience with building financial models/analysis
  • Strong analytical and forecasting skills as you will be required to continuously analyze your clients’ businesses each month and assist in devising go-forward strategies
  • Experience and knowledge of accounting software such as QuickBooks/QBO, Sage and other ERP systems
