A leading provider of engineered solutions located in Brampton is seeking an Associate Branch Engineer. The role involves offering technical support, engaging in product development, and conducting training sessions for customers. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering and relevant experience. This full-time position does not allow for remote work and requires occasional travel.

YOU
As an Associate Branch Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical support to all Simpson Strong-Tie customers. You will have the opportunity to participate in the technical development of new innovative products, assist in product performance analysis, review content for literature publications along with promoting the performance benefits of our products.
WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING(% of Time)
Provide Technical support for all Simpson Strong-Tie products to specifiers, building officials, contractors, to our customers (e.g. specifiers, building officials, contractors, installers, etc.)and sales representatives. Work closely with other employees to identify new products and testing opportunities. Participate in technical development of new and innovative products and product developments for the construction industry. Assist in product performance analysis, building code approval review and submittals. Review content for new literature publications such as catalogues, technical bulletins, fliers & engineering letters that promote the performance benefits of our products. Complete projects assigned by the Director of Engineering - Canada, Branch Manager, and Vice President of Engineering. (70%)
Create presentation content, technical literature, and conduct technical presentations for onsite and offsite customer workshops. Provide product knowledge training sessions in front of customers (architects, contractors, building officials, and others). Develop test programs to introduce new products, support sales, and provide services to improve and maintain existing products. Plan, prepare and assist in the setup of workshops to ensure a successful demonstration. Train inside and outside sales representatives on new products and technical literature. (20%)
Travel with sales representatives to meet and develop business relationships with customers, assist with technical support, give presentations, conduct job site calls, research/report new products/applications, and observe product installations. Represent the company at various professional associations and technical committee meetings. (10%)

WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in both a professional office environment, customer sites and outdoor construction job sites. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printer/scanner, etc. The employee occasionally works around moving mechanical parts. Noise level may be loud at times.
Travel
This position requires domestic travel up to 10% of the time.
Work Status & Location
This full-time position is located in Brampton, ON. It is not eligible for remote work.

Relocation is not available for this position.
Pay
$84,400 - $135,000 / year
