The RBC Dominion Securities branch located in Salmon Arm is seeking an Associate Investment Advisor to join a successful Advisory Team. You will deepen client relationships by offering sound advice and support to clients and to the Investment Advisor. Identifying and assisting growth of new business opportunities will also be key.

What is the opportunity?

As an Associate Investment Advisor you will play a critical role in delivering tailored wealth management services to high‑net‑worth clients, supporting the Wealth Advisor and collaborating with internal planning experts to create comprehensive financial plans.

What will you do?
  • Provide bespoke financial planning advice and wealth management strategies
  • Use proprietary software to prepare financial plans
  • Work with the Wealth Advisor and their team and with internal RBC planning experts (including Financial Planning, Estate Planning, Business Owner Planning, Trust Planning, Charitable Planning, Insurance Planning and other specialists) to prepare customized planning for the specific needs and objectives of our HNW clients, covering wealth preservation, transfer strategies, holding company strategies, executive compensation arrangements, pension plans, retirement compensation arrangements, gifting of securities, charitable planning, trust, insurance and other strategies
  • Liaise and work with the professional advisors of our HNW clients to ensure execution of the planning advice and wealth management strategies
  • Develop the service plan for ongoing financial planning and wealth management advice
  • Promote and support a work environment that inspires innovation, creativity and collaboration
What must you have to succeed?
  • First‑class client service skills
  • At least 7 years of relevant investment industry experience with HNW clients
  • Exceptional verbal and written English skills – especially over the telephone
  • Recognized professional designation (such as CPA, CA, FEA, CFA, CFP, LLB, etc.)
  • Commitment to obtain CFP designation (if not already held)
  • Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university
  • IIROC licensed as a Registered Representative (RR) or willingness to obtain
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Nice‑to‑have
  • Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills
  • CIM designation, an asset

Compensation for this position (including salary and discretionary/variable incentive payments) will be determined by factors such as candidate’s experience, skills, registration status, performance, individual goals; market conditions; and business needs. The expected salary range for this position is $85,000 – $150,000. This position may be eligible to receive a discretionary/variable incentive payment.
