Assistant Professor (Tenure Track) - Director of Bands and Instrumental Conducting

Position Summary: The Department of Music in the Faculty of Media, Art, and Performance at the University of Regina invites applications for a tenure‑track position at the rank of Assistant Professor. The position will commence July 1, 2026. The successful candidate will serve as Director of Bands and Instrumental Conducting, leading the University of Regina Wind Ensemble and Concert Band, while teaching courses in instrumental conducting and contributing to departmental, faculty, and university service.

Responsibilities
  • Select repertoire, conduct rehearsals, and provide performance opportunities for the Wind Ensemble and Concert Band.
Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in music and proven professional track record as a band director at the post‑secondary level.
  • Doctorate (DMA, Ph.D., or DMus) preferred.
  • Graduate teaching experience an asset.
  • Ability to teach in applied areas a plus.
  • Legal entitlement to work in Canada; position to be performed within Canada.
