Assistant Food Manager (Floater) - Lacombe Food Store

We are currently looking for a full‑time Assistant Food Manager (Floater) to help oversee daily operations, support our team and ensure a safe, positive experience for customers.

As the Assistant Food Manager, you will report to the Lacombe Food Store Manager and provide additional support to other Central Alberta Co‑op Food locations when needed.

Full‑time: 40 hours per week.
Availability: Weekdays and weekends – mornings, afternoons, and evenings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Achieve budgeted goals related to sales, margins, expenses, inventory and SPEH.
  • Prepare budget in conjunction with the Food Manager.
  • Ensure that all records related to markdowns, transfers, receiving, claims, invoicing, and retail price files are maintained.
  • Follow proper recruitment, orientation and training practices.
  • Ensure proper appearance of all facilities equipment and image checklist.
  • Ensure all staff adhere to Co‑op standards regarding safe food handling, sanitation, merchandising, signage, staff appearance, housekeeping and health & safety and loss prevention.
  • Responsible for ensuring shelf label information, prices and PLU codes are accurate.
  • Create customer engagement by encouraging customers to interact and share in experiences created by the Co‑op business and brand.
  • Keep familiar and up to date with current and new products on the market.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the store manager.
Qualifications
  • Three (3) years retail supervisor experience (background in food is an asset).
  • Business‑related education would be an asset.
  • Financial literacy, able to understand budgets, margins, and scheduling.
  • Able to lift products over 55 lbs. regularly.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiar with POS systems.
