Asset Management Analyst

Senior Analyst - Development & Investment

On behalf of our client, we are seeking a junior to intermediate-level

to join their Portfolio & Asset Management team, reporting to the VP. The successful candidate will be a highly motivated team player, with a passion for commercial real estate, asset management, and valuations. This individual will be able to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will bring a strong analytical skill set, exceptional attention to detail, advanced knowledge of Excel and Argus, and a keen attitude to roll up their sleeves and learn.

The base salary is $65,000 to $80,000, based on industry experience and exposure, accompanied by benefits, RRSPs, and a bonus. Our client is an advocate for equity and diversity, recognizing the importance of leadership engagement within its framework.

Responsibilities
  • Support leaders in overseeing a national CRE portfolio and the strategic direction of their holdings through analytics, valuation oversight, and portfolio insights.
  • Manage the end-to-end quarterly valuation and reporting processes - from data collection and model development to reasonableness testing and documentation.
  • Deliver financial models, scenario planning, and sensitivity assessments to shape investment decisions and optimize asset performance.
  • Assemble internal and external reports that track asset performance, portfolio composition, and strategic initiatives.
  • Maintain awareness of acquisition activity, redevelopment initiatives, and macroeconomic trends influencing the property portfolio.
  • Collaborate across departments to verify data integrity and explore pathways to enhance return metrics.
  • Build executive-facing presentations to convey strategy updates and performance findings to senior leadership and joint venture stakeholders.
  • Execute reconciliations and variance reviews to monitor financial trends and identify discrepancies.
  • Interface regularly with internal stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams to facilitate knowledge exchange and workflow efficiency.
  • Work closely with third-party valuators and auditors to validate property appraisals, align assumptions, and support financial disclosures.
Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree preferably in Commerce, Real Estate, Finance, or Accounting.
  • At least one (1) year of Commercial Real Estate appraisal, valuations, or asset / portfolio management experience.
  • Excellent financial and analytical skills in valuing commercial real estate assets.
  • Strong computer skills with knowledge of Excel and Argus required.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with proven ability to think logically and problem-solve effectively.
  • Superior communication skills, both written and verbal with a successful track record in working with internal and external teams.
  • Confident presentation and persuasion skills; able to interact directly with senior management.
  • Collaborative attitude with the capacity and willingness to manage multiple tasks.
  • Demonstrated ability to work efficiently, dealing with changes and interruptions while maintaining deadlines.
  • Proven self-starter with the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
