Job summary

A service provider for critical infrastructure is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician specializing in Oil Burner systems. Located in various northern sites across Canada, this role involves maintaining critical heating systems, responding to emergencies, and ensuring safety audits. Candidates should have a valid Oil Burner Technician certificate and at least five years of experience in a commercial or industrial setting. Qualifications

  • A minimum of five years in a commercial or industrial setting is required.
  • Experience developing and conducting technical training is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in maintaining NWS systems, focusing on heating and other Facilities systems.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on heating systems at LRR sites.
  • Analyze equipment failures, determine root causes, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Document and update facilities files related to the work management system.
  • Respond to emergency situations, such as unexpected failures.

Skills

Knowledge of heating systems
Proficiency with tools and test equipment
Excellent communication skills
Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Maximo
Standard First Aid with CPR Level A certification
Valid Class 'G' driver’s license

Education

Valid Trade Certificate, Oil Burner Technician (OBT2 or OBT1)
Inter-Provincial Red Seal Journeyperson Certificate
