Architectural Project Design Coordinator
The Project Design Coordinator (PDC) is a key member of the CAD Design team, supporting customized, make-to-order ceiling projects from bid through project close-out. Working closely with Project Managers, Engineering, Sales, and Production, the PDC translates architectural intent into accurate shop and production drawings while ensuring projects are delivered on time, to specification, and to quality standards. This role is ideal for a technically minded designer who enjoys managing multiple projects and collaborating across functions.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Project Execution:
- Execute engineering-related tasks on multiple projects from bid stage through project close-out.
- Produce and revise shop and production drawings, ranging from small layouts to large, complex drawing packages, using AutoCAD and related software.
- Ensure all drawings conform to internal design standards, controls, and quality requirements.
- Review and finalize drawings with the Project Design Supervisor prior to release.
Coordination & Communication:
- Prepare and issue Requests for Production (RFPs) using architectural drawings, shop drawings, and field dimensions.
- Coordinate transfer meetings with production teams to ensure clarity and optimized manufacturing outcomes.
- Communicate with internal stakeholders and, when required, external customers regarding drawings, schedules, deliveries, and changes.
- Coordinate samples for internal and client approvals.
Project Management Support:
- Maintain complete and accurate project files and documentation.
- Prepare material take-offs and submit advance orders to support production schedules.
- Support change orders, job revisions, and additions in collaboration with Sales, Project Managers, R&D, and Production.
- Identify and report project issues or disputes to the Project Design Supervisor.
- Ensure projects meet deadlines, specifications, and customer expectations.

Qualifications & Experience
Education & Experience:
- Diploma or degree in a technical field; architectural design, engineering, project management, or product development preferred.
- 1–3 years of experience in architectural or mechanical design.
- Experience producing architectural drawings and working with construction documents.
Technical Skills:
- Advanced proficiency with AutoCAD (latest versions).
- Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings and construction documentation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- 3D modeling experience using AutoCAD 3D or SolidWorks is an asset but not required.

- Flexibility in workload and the ability to work through project deadlines are essential.
- You will work in our Hybrid model, 3 days in our facility in Woodbridge.

In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 8% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures.
