Job summary

A leading fitness organization in Peel Region, Mississauga is seeking an Aquatics Swim Instructor. In this role, you will teach swimming lessons, help improve swimming skills for both children and adults, and maintain a safe and clean aquatic environment. Ideal candidates should be working towards a high school diploma and must obtain CPR and Lifeguard Certifications. Strong communication skills and the ability to lift up to 20 lbs are essential for success in this position.

Qualifications

  • Must be working towards a High School Diploma or GED.
  • CPR, First Aid, and Lifeguard Certifications required (within 60 days of hire).
  • Ability to communicate and exchange information with guests.

Responsibilities

Position Summary

As an Aquatics Swim Instructor, you will work in a fast-paced environment. You will help both adults and children improve their swimming. You will teach life skills to our youngest members and evaluate their swimming ability to establish the correct swim level. You will help to maintain the cleanliness and order of our Aquatics Facilities.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Instructs swimming lessons and Aquatics events
  • Responds to member questions, comments, and concerns
  • Provides a safe, clean and organized pool area
  • Promotes and sells all Aquatics programs and services
Position Requirements
  • Working towards a High School Diploma or GED
  • CPR, First Aid and Lifeguard Certifications (within 60 days of hire)
  • Complete and pass all Life Time courses when hired
  • Ability to work in a stationery position and move about the club for prolonged periods of time
  • Ability to communicate and exchange information with guests who have inquiries about Life Time products and services
  • Ability to swim 25 yards/meters without stopping
  • Ability to routinely raise to lift more than 20 lbs
Preferred Requirements
  • Swim lesson instruction or coaching experience
