Job summary

A government agency in Canada is hiring a Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Mechanic based in Timmins, Ontario. The successful candidate will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing HVAC systems in a physically demanding environment. Candidates must have a Registered Apprenticeship certificate, relevant trade certification, and at least 2 years of relevant experience. This is an on-site role with no remote options.

Qualifications

  • 2 years to less than 3 years of experience required.
  • Valid driver's licence is mandatory.
  • Completion of level one to five apprenticeship training.

Responsibilities

  • Install ventilation, air handling and air conditioning systems.
  • Maintain and repair equipment in refrigerated trucks.
  • Troubleshoot heating systems.
  • Test systems for leaks using testing devices.

  • Maintain and repair equipment in refrigerated trucks
  • Read blueprints or other instructions to determine work requirements
  • Troubleshoot heating systems
  • Troubleshoot ventilation, air handling, refrigeration and air conditioning systems
  • Start up system and test for leaks using testing devices
  • Perform maintenance such as, recharging system with refrigerant, checking and testing regulators or calibrating system
  • Interpret gas codes
  • Handle, recover and store refrigerants
  • Repair and replace parts and components for entire refrigeration, air conditioning, ventilation or heat pump systems
