Job summary

A leading technology company in Toronto is seeking an experienced Application Release Engineer to create and execute non-functional test plans for applications. The ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience in the IT technology field with strong skills in UNIX and Windows Server, as well as familiarity with WebSphere and Agile methodologies. This position is long-term and requires a minimum of 2 days onsite work per week.

• 5+ years in the IT Technology field.
• Strong change management skills.
• Excellent UNIX experience, AIX preferred.

Job Responsibilities:

Create non-functional test plans for application, M/W and D/B technologies on a project-by-project basis

Execute test plan scenarios using scripts if available

Conduct non-functional testing including operability, failover and negative

Create reports of test procedures, defects observed, & test result metrics

Skills and Experience Required:

Required

5+ years in the IT Technology field

Knowledge of ITS internal Business practices and related tools/processes would be an asset.

Strong change management skills

Excellent UNIX (AIX preferred) experience.

Excellent Windows Server experience.

Experience with WebSphere, Apache, and Tomcat.

Experience with Cloud promotions.

Knowledge of Azure and JBoss

Knowledge of Confluence and Jira

Desired

Exposure to SOA based apps.

IIS experience

Knowledge of Agile and DevOps tools (i.e. Jenkins, Bitbucket, Nexus, etc.) and methodologies

Education:

College / University or equivalent work experience
