Application Developer – Intermediate (PeopleSoft)

Location: Downtown Toronto near TTC and GO

Remote/Hybrid: Hybrid – every Thursday and 4th Friday (5 days a month)

Duration: 8 months (potential extension: Yes, conversion: No)

Work Schedule: 9-5 (37.5hr/week), no OT

Target Rate Range: $50–62/hr B2B

What does the LOB do?

Provide technical support to the bank’s Finance team by managing applications that feed data into financial systems. Responsibilities include ensuring accurate General Ledger (GL) processing and handling regulatory data integration. Collaborate with specialized teams that manage CDIC and other regulatory reporting requirements to maintain compliance and data integrity.

Reason the role is open

This line of business is undertaking a PeopleSoft 8.62 upgrade. The initial phase of the project will focus exclusively on the software upgrade, including retrofitting custom code. Subsequent phases will provide opportunities for enhancements and the addition of new features. The individual hired will be actively involved in all infrastructure-related activities and will lead the team from an infrastructure perspective throughout the upgrade process.

Job Description

The Application Developer – Intermediate (PeopleSoft) will support the PeopleSoft 8.62 GL upgrade by retrofitting and enhancing existing customizations to align with the target version.

Key Responsibilities
  • Retrofitting and rewriting existing PeopleSoft custom code for the 8.62 target environment
  • Enhancing current functionality where required to support the upgraded platform
  • Working closely with senior developers and SMEs to execute assigned development tasks
  • Supporting database‑driven development using Oracle and SQL
  • Ensuring customizations function correctly post‑upgrade and align with internal standards
  • Participating in team‑based development activities (not a production support role)
  • This is a hands‑on development role, focused on execution rather than solution ownership or leadership.
Must Have Requirement
  • 5–8 years of PeopleSoft application development experience
  • Hands‑on experience with PeopleSoft upgrades, specifically retrofitting existing custom code
  • Strong understanding of PeopleSoft proprietary development objects
  • Solid experience with Oracle databases and SQL
  • Ability to enhance and rewrite existing code rather than building solutions entirely from scratch
  • Experience working in structured, instruction‑driven development environments
Nice to Have
  • Experience with additional PeopleSoft proprietary objects (as outlined in internal requirement documentation)
  • Prior exposure to financial systems or finance‑related PeopleSoft modules
  • Oracle or PeopleSoft certifications
