Job description

Thrive Freeze Dry, a rapidly growing freeze-dried manufacturing company is recruiting for a detailed oriented and organized Ammonia Certified Technician for our office in Langley BC reporting to the Maintenance Manager. This opportunity is for the night shift and follows a 12-hour rotational schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspection and daily maintenance of all equipment (Freeze Dry System & others)
  • Measure and troubleshoot temperature, pressure, and fuel flow, detect leaks or other equipment failures
  • Ensure the system start-up and shutdown operations are maintained
  • Implement corrective actions and minor repairs to prevent equipment or system failure
  • Manage the daily lubrications and other daily equipment tasks
  • Manage the workspace to be clear and clean after repairs
  • Complete all daily, weekly or monthly reporting as required
  • Assist in the development of operation, maintenance and safety procedures
  • Other tasks as assigned

Qualifications

  • 4th Class Power Engineering Certification is a must
  • Minimum one year of experience in refrigeration operation or power engineering within a manufacturing environment, preferably involving ammonia or Freon systems.
  • Proficient in electrical and mechanical maintenance, applying knowledge and skills on a daily basis.
  • Strong awareness of safety protocols and the ability to perform duties in compliance with legislated safety requirements.
  • Knowledge of Word and Excel
  • Capable of performing physical tasks, such as lifting at least 50 lbs., kneeling, climbing, crawling, and twisting.
  • Comfortable working in temperature-controlled, refrigerated, or chilled environments.
