Job summary

A community support organization in Winnipeg is seeking an Administrative Assistant to welcome visitors, provide support for program enrollment, and perform general administrative tasks. The ideal candidate will possess strong people skills, clear communication abilities, and strong computer skills. Must be reliable, punctual, and available for occasional evening and weekend work. Responsibilities
  • Reception & Intake: Welcome visitors and answer questions in person, by phone, and by email. Assist people in joining our programs and share information about community resources.
  • General Administrative Support: Provide daily administrative assistance, prepare meeting materials, and take accurate meeting notes.
  • Administrative Process Support: Keep files organized and support teams by doing administrative work to help our office run smoothly.
Qualifications
  • Reliable and punctual.
  • Strong people skills and a professional, friendly, calm welcoming manner.
  • Experience helping people and a desire to make everyone feel welcome.
  • Good at solving problems, taking initiative, and figuring things out.
  • Clear and easy communication – talking and writing.
  • Conflict resolution in a healthy way and strong teamwork.
  • Understanding of the ongoing impacts of colonization and how history affects people today.
  • Self‑work and task organization.
  • Ability to handle several tasks at once and pay close attention to details.
  • Strong computer skills and ability to quickly learn new software applications.
    • Typing speed of 60 wpm minimum.
  • Availability to work occasional evenings and weekends.
