AU SUJET DE LA CLINIQUE

La maladie d'Alzheimer (MA) est le type de dmence le plus courant, reprsentant environ 70 % de tous les cas. Les personnes ges de plus de 65 ans courent un risque plus lev de ddevelopper la MA. Elle diminue les capacits cognitives, verbales et physiques en dtruisant les cellules du cerveau. Cela affecte son tour notre capacit penser, apprendre de nouvelles choses et nous souvenir. De nombreux experts scientifiques s'efforcent d'amliorer notre comprhension de cette maladie dvastatrice et cherchent ainsi trouver des traitements plus efficaces.

Nos cliniques s'associent des socits pharmaceutiques pour mener des essais cliniques de phase II et III sur la maladie d'Alzheimer. Notre contribution unique va rvolutionner la lutte contre la maladie. Nous fournissons des soins aux patients, gnrons des connaissances pour la communaut scientifique, continuons amliorer le soutien et l'accs la recherche clinique.

L'adjoint(e) administratif mdical(e) assure le service la clientle et le soutien administratif gnral la clinique et aux quipes de recherche. En tant que premier point de contact pour les patients, ce poste offre aux patients une assistance dans le domaine de la prise de rendez-vous, de la documentation ou du support.

Overview — English

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is the most common type of dementia, making up approximately 70% of all cases. Those over the age of 65 are at a higher risk to develop AD. It diminishes cognitive, verbal and physical abilities by destroying brain cells. This in turn affects our ability to think, to learn new things, and to remember. Many scientific experts are working to ameliorate our understanding of this devastating disease, thus searching to find more effective treatments.

Our clinics partner with pharmaceutical companies to conduct Phase II and III clinical trials for Alzheimer's Disease. Our unique contribution will revolutionize the fight against the disease. We provide care to patients, generate knowledge for the scientific community, continue to improve support, and access to clinical research.

SUMMARY

The Medical Administrative Assistant provides customer service and general administrative support to the clinic and research teams. As the first point of contact for patients, this position offers patients assistance in the area of scheduling appointments, documentation or support.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Greets patients and guests at the front reception
  • Assists guests in person, by phone or via email
  • Escalates issues or concerns when appropriate
  • Coordinates and maintains office supplies for the clinic
  • Manage external venders as required
  • Scans and faxes medical documents to external parties and doctors office
  • Validates parking for guests and patients
  • Arranges for transportation via taxis for patients
  • Leads patients to the designated waiting areas
  • Cleans and disinfects the area when the patient / person leaves
  • Prepares documentation for upcoming appointments
  • Opens and closes the clinic in adherence to office hours
  • Provides administration support to the rest of the clinic and research team
  • Performs work in accordance with the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations and all company policies and procedures related to Occupational Health and Safety.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
  • A Post- Secondary Degree or Diploma in general office administration, business or medical secretarial work, or a combination of education, training and experience deemed equivalent
  • A minimum of two (2) years of experience in administration or medical secretarial work
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and other software tools
  • Bilingual in English and French
