Job description
Overview

In this role you'll do more than just balance books — you'll help us build smarter systems, guide a growing team, and keep our financial engine running smoothly. You'll oversee AR and AP while working closely with our Controller on everything from financial reporting to forecasting and beyond.

If you're currently enrolled in the CPA program and have experience leading a team, that's a big bonus. But most of all we're looking for someone who loves what they do and wants to grow with us.

What You'll Be Doing
  • Prep and review account schedules, financial statements, and working papers
  • Spot issues, find solutions, and recommend smart improvements
  • Oversee general accounting and tax operations
  • Lead and support the AR / AP team with mentorship and backup support
  • Assist the Controller with reporting, payroll, budgeting, and analysis
  • Bring insights to the table — costing, forecasting, modeling, and more
  • Help improve ERP systems and financial reporting tools
  • Tackle reconciliations, government remittances (GST / HST), and ad-hoc reporting
  • Present financial info in a way that makes sense to non-finance folks
What You Bring to the Table
  • A degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Finance
  • Experience in accounting, public industry, or both
  • Strong leadership skills and experience managing a team
  • Super Excel skills (formulas, pivot tables — bring it on!)
  • Bonus points if you know Microsoft Business Central / NAV / Dynamics
  • Even more bonus points if you've helped implement ERP or financial software
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Comfortable juggling tasks and deadlines without breaking a sweat
  • Detail-oriented, proactive, and great with spreadsheets
  • Willingness to pitch in when needed, including occasional overtime
Perks & Work Environment
  • Collaborative, welcoming team
  • Professional development opportunities
  • Bright open-concept workspace
  • Standard 40-hour work week
  • Room to grow and make your mark
  • A 100% employer-paid benefits plan
