A leading Canadian accounting firm is looking for an Accountant to join their Tax team. The successful candidate will prepare CDA calculations, estate returns, and assist with CRA inquiries. Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s degree in commerce or business administration and be enrolled in the CPA Professional Education Program. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in commerce or business administration (accounting or finance major preferred).
  • Enrolled in the CPA Professional Education Program (PEP).
  • 1 to 2 years of relevant public accounting or tax services experience.
  • Working knowledge of the Canadian Income Tax Act.
  • Experience working with accounting and tax software preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of CDA calculations and filings.
  • Preparation of estate and trust returns (T3s), family trusts file preparation, and T5s.
  • Assisting with tax planning and implementation of tasks.
  • Drafting and submitting responses to CRA inquiries and requests.
  • Supporting the preparation of T1 and T2 returns, as needed.
  • Scanning and organizing paperwork to reduce clutter and improve workflow.
  • Preparing organizational charts to streamline association reviews by managers.
  • Assisting with quick-turnaround tasks such as incorporations and election forms.
  • Completing first review of draft legal documents instead of managers.

Skills

Bachelor's degree in commerce or business administration (accounting or finance major)
Enrolled in the CPA Professional Education Program (PEP)
1 to 2 years of relevant public accounting or tax services experience
Working knowledge of the Canadian Income Tax Act
