A financial services company is seeking a remote bookkeeper/accountant to support financial administration for Indigenous trusts. The role requires 2+ years of accounting experience and knowledge of relevant policies. Responsibilities include day-to-day accounting, reporting, and ensuring precision in fund administration. The ideal candidate should have strong communication skills and experience working with Indigenous Nations. Initial interviews will occur via MS Teams, starting ASAP.
Location Address: Alberta Work From Home – 100% remote
Contract Duration: ASAP – 10/31/2026
Possibility of extension and conversion to FTE
Schedule Hours: 9am-5pm Monday-Friday MTN time; standard 37.5 hrs/week (Possible OT)

The bookkeeper/accountant plays a critical role in supporting the accurate, transparent, and timely financial administration of Indigenous trusts administered by Scotiatrust. This role is responsible for day‑to‑day accounting, reporting, reconciliation and audit preparation across multiple First Nation trust structures, enabling Trust Officers to focus on fiduciary oversight, relationship management, and Nation‑centered service delivery. This role supports Reconciliation in action by ensuring Indigenous trust funds are administered with care, precision, accountability and respect for community governance, transparency expectations, and intergenerational stewardship.
Diploma or degree in accounting or related financial discipline required
The ideal candidate would have strong accounting experience and would have experience working with Indigenous Nations.
