A leading financial services provider is seeking an ABS Reporting Specialist in Mississauga, ON, to prepare and validate investor reports for Canadian ABS transactions. Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly collateral and service reports for Canadian ABS transactions.
  • Support issuance of new Canadian transactions by providing documentation to external auditors.
  • Set up and validate transactions in ABS Suite and GTS.
  • Complete reporting of ABS balances in GTS.
  • Monitor Canadian ABS cash flows daily and reconcile bank wires.
  • Process purchase orders and payment of invoices.
  • Administer ABS bank account in Genesis.
  • Coordinate signatures and distributions of ABS documents.
  • Generate miscellaneous monthly and issuance reports.
  • Maintain department work instructions and update documents.
  • Complete IC compliance activities as necessary.
  • Perform UAT for system upgrades as needed.
  • Provide support to ABS local and HQ teams.

Position Summary

Mercedes-Benz Financial Services Canada (MBFS) is seeking a dedicated and experienced ABS Reporting Specialist to join our team. The ABS Reporting Specialist is responsible for the preparation, validation and distribution of investor reports for Canadian Asset-Backed Securitization (ABS) transactions, providing documentation to external auditors, supporting the HQ ABS team as necessary, and providing information to Financial Reporting/ABS Accounting/Cash and Interest Expense Forecasting teams and inputs to the Global Treasury System (GTS). The successful incumbent will be responsible for the administration and support activities for all US and Canadian ABS transactions.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare monthly collateral and service reports for Canadian ABS transactions.
  • Support the issuance of new Canadian transactions by providing documentation to external auditors to support their AUP work.
  • Set up new transactions into ABS Suite; set up and validate transaction in GTS; validate initial cash flow model and interest expense calculations; and assign appropriate access rights to team members for input and/or approvals in Ferret.
  • Complete proper reporting of ABS balances in GTS including monthly validation of outstanding note and cash balances, uploading balances into GTS and remediating issues with the upload or reporting processes as necessary.
  • Daily monitoring of Canadian ABS cash flows. Task includes monitoring daily fund investments and reconciling bank wires with the bank statements at month-end.
  • Process purchase orders, payment of invoices, maintaining invoice log and accrual analysis.
  • Responsible for the ABS bank account administration in Genesis.
  • Coordinate signatures and distributions of ABS document for all US and Canadian ABS transactions.
  • Generate miscellaneous monthly reports and issuance reports. Support Financial Reporting with ABS accounting entries, prepare ABS whitepapers and information for footnote disclosures.
  • Maintain department work instructions and update documents in Compass.
  • Complete IC compliance activities as applicable.
  • Responsible for performing UAT for system upgrades, as necessary.
  • Provide additional support as need to ABS local and HQ teams.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
  • Minimum of [3] years of comprehensive experience in accounting, finance or treasury.
  • Previous ABS experience considered an asset.
  • CPA or other financial designation preferred.

  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Working knowledge of ALFA, NFA, Cognos and ECM.
