A health network in Ontario is seeking an Anesthesia Assistant to work closely with a multidisciplinary team, providing anesthesia and critical care support during all phases of patient management. Ideal candidates will have an Anesthesia Assistant Graduate Certificate and experience in critical care or operating room settings. Strong communication, leadership, and decision-making skills are essential. This position promises a fulfilling role in a dedicated healthcare environment focused on safety and inclusivity.
As the Anesthesia Assistant you will function as an integral part of the Surgical Program, working in collaboration with the multidisciplinary health care team, including the Anesthesiologist. You will provide a high level of anesthesia and critical care support to the patient often including the pre-operative, intra-operative and post-operative phase of the patient’s stay.
The Anesthesia Assistant provides direct patient care by administering pharmacological agents (by inhalation or injection) under the direct supervision of the Anesthesiologist or as per medical directive. You will support the Anesthesiologist by assisting with basic and advanced patient procedures including patient monitoring.
The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and OPSEU Local 348.
Successful External applicants must provide a satisfactory Criminal Investigation Reference for the vulnerable sector, dated within the past six (6) months.
