Job summary

A financial institution in Toronto is seeking a Student for a Summer 2026 placement. In this role, you will support Transaction Banking departments, contribute to operational processes, and gain exposure to key strategic initiatives. You must be currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution and demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office. This position offers valuable hands-on experience in a dynamic team environment. Please note: This posting is for a 4-month STUDENT Summer 2026 placement with a start date of May 2026 and end-date of August 2026.


In order to be eligible for this 4-month Student position, you must either:

  • Be returning back to school after the work term end-date of August 2026; or
  • If you are not returning back to school (i.e. are graduating in April 2026/August 2026), but you require the work term as a mandatory component to in order to graduate successfully.

What is the opportunity?

In this role, you will support theTransaction Banking in its Treasury and Trade functions within either the Sales, Servicing, or Operations teams. This role offers hands‑on experience in a dynamic, client-focused environment, where you will contribute to daily operations, process improvements, project execution, reporting, and event coordination.

This role will partner closely with key stakeholders and cross‑functional teams across Transaction Banking, Commercial Banking, and support functions, to contribute to high‑priority transformation initiatives, aligned to Transaction Banking strategy and gaining exposure to strategic planning and execution in the Treasury and Trade space.

What will you do?
  • Support daily operations: Document and refine processes, assist with transactional tasks (e.g., payments, trade finance), and contribute to client servicing (e.g., inquiry resolution).
  • Drive projects: Help plan, organize, and implement initiatives by researching trends, supporting tool rollouts, and collaborating with teams like Technology, Risk, and Compliance.
  • Enhance reporting: Prepare routine/ad‑hoc reports, analyze data for insights, and assist in creating dashboards or presentations for stakeholders.
  • Learn through variety: Shadow senior team members in client interactions and contribute to process optimization projects.
  • Engage in events: Assist in coordinating internal/external events (e.g., seminars, workshops) to support client and team engagement.
  • Align with strategy: Contribute to transformation initiatives aligned with Transaction Banking goals, gaining exposure to strategic execution.
What do you need to succeed?
Must-have
  • Currently enrolled in a post secondary institution
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word) [optional: Sharepoint]; experience with data analysis tools or dashboards is a plus
  • Personable and professional when co‑operating with associates, and other members of the team. Ability to develop relationships within Transaction Banking and with stakeholders
  • Sharing information & communicating effectively (written and verbal)
  • Organization (planning & execution)

Nice-to-have
