Overview

SeaFort Capital is a private investment firm based in Halifax that makes direct control investments in profitable mid-sized Canadian companies. Founded in 2012 by a select group of private investors, SeaFort partners with strong management teams to strengthen and grow profitable businesses. SeaFort Capital is investing its second fund which currently has committed capital in excess of $189 million.

SeaFort Capital is seeking a Summer Analyst to work in its Halifax office. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work as part of a small, dynamic team that actively manages investments in businesses across Canada. The SeaFort summer program commences in early June 2026 and will last for 12 weeks. The successful candidate will conduct research and support many aspects of the investment process, such as deal sourcing, due diligence, business analysis, deal execution, and ongoing portfolio company support.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with industry and market analyses to identify and understand trends
  • Support the screening, review, and execution of new investments
  • Actively participate in the SeaFort summer learning program
  • Develop models and conduct analysis using alternative data sources
  • Support marketing and generation of new investment opportunities
  • Present investment ideas to the SeaFort team
  • Other duties as required
Basic Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in a university program and registered to return to studies in September 2026
  • An interest in mergers and acquisitions, with a focus on private equity
  • Confident and able to work independently
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Ability to conduct thorough and effective research
  • Meticulous attention to detail
  • Proven work ethic with a focus on delivering high-quality work
Preferred Qualifications
  • Completed three years of a relevant undergraduate program and set to enter fourth year of studies
  • Financial modeling and valuation experience
  • Comfortable working with and combining disparate and diverse data sources
  • Demonstrated skill with scripting languages, including the ability to write in Python or R to automate tasks (e.g. web scraping)
  • French language skills
