Job Summary

Interested in a French contract with the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board? We want to hire you!! This posting is open to approved OCDSB Elementary Occasional Teachers & External Applicants. The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board (OCDSB) will be hiring Teachers qualified in FSL Part 1 for Contract and Long-Term Occasional assignments to address the growing needs of our French programs for the 2026-27 school year.

Candidate Eligibility

• On our Occasional Teachers roster and have been French assessed (F).
• On our Occasional Teachers roster, have FSL Part 1 qualifications and intend to have your French assessed in February 2026 (whether this is your initial screening or if your previous assessment was unsuccessful and you wish to be reassessed).
• OCDSB Occasional Teachers who will have FSL qualifications by August 31, 2026.
• External candidates (who currently have FSL part 1 qualifications or will have by August 31, 2026).
• Re‑locating French contract teachers.
• Previous FSL Pool candidates that wish to participate in the 2026-27 process. Candidates deemed eligible previously for a contract position do not need to re‑interview. Candidates that were deemed eligible for an LTO or the OT list have the option of interviewing to improve their status.

Application Requirements

All successful applicants will need to be in good standing with OCT by August 31, 2026. The deadline to apply to the 2026-27 FSL Staffing Pool is 11:30 p.m. on February 20, 2026.

Successful applicants will be assigned to one or more of the following for September 2026:

• A permanent contract position with the OCDSB.
• A Long‑Term Occasional assignment with the OCDSB for the 2026/27 school year.
• The OCDSB Occasional Teachers Roster.

Interview Process

All candidates for the FSL Pool will be screened via a Google Meet interview. Candidates without a previously successful OCDSB French assessment will complete an OCDSB French assessment as part of the interview process. Screening is anticipated to occur in February/March. Placements into assignments will occur in May/June 2026.

• Les candidats externes (qui possèdent déjà la qualification FSL Partie 1 ou l’auront d’ici le 31 août 2026).
• Les enseignants contractuels de français en transfert d’affectation.
• Les anciens candidats du bassin FSL qui souhaitent participer au processus 2026‑2027. Les candidats qui avaient déjà été jugés admissibles à un poste contractuel n’ont pas besoin de passer une nouvelle entrevue. Les candidats qui avaient été jugés admissibles à une affectation à long terme (LTO) ou la liste d’enseignants occasionnels ont la possibilité de passer une nouvelle entrevue pour améliorer leur statut.

Tous les candidats retenus devront être en règle auprès de l’OCT d’ici le 31 août 2026. La date limite pour soumettre votre candidature au bassin de dotation FSL 2026‑2027 est le 20 février 2026 à 23 h 30.

Les candidats retenus dans le cadre de cette publication seront affectés à un ou plusieurs des éléments suivants pour septembre 2026 :

• Un poste contractuel permanent à l’OCDSB.
• Une affectation à long terme pour l’année scolaire 2026‑2027.
• La liste des enseignants occasionnels de l’OCDSB.

Entrevues : Tous les candidats du bassin FSL feront l’objet d’un dépistage par une entrevue Google Meet. Les candidats n’ayant jamais obtenu une évaluation de français réussie de l’OCDSB devront passer une évaluation de français de l’OCDSB dans le cadre du processus d’entrevue. Le dépistage devrait avoir lieu en février/mars. Les affectations se feront en mai/juin 2026.
