An educational consultancy is seeking an experienced tutor in Peterborough to provide specialized one-to-one education for a student with ADHD and Dyslexia. Qualifications

Job description

Remedy Tutors are currently looking for an encouraging tutor in the Peterborough area to educate an SEN student with varied needs in a non-school or virtual setting.

This is an exciting new opportunity to teach core subjects to provide one-to-one education to a student who is temporarily lacking a school placement and will require tuition until a permanent placement at a school is secured. The individual you will be tutoring has ADHD and Dyslexia; this individual has difficulties with spelling, reading comprehension, reasoning and processing so as a Tutor you will need to be positive, resilient and have lots of patience. The student also has difficulties maintaining relationships, managing her emotions and behaviour, and viewing herself positively as a learner.

As a Tutor, you will be tutoring, Numeracy, Literacy and Science. Tutoring will take place in the student's home or at a local library.

This role will be rewarding, enabling and simplifying learning outside of the classroom which will allow creative delivery and personalised lesson planning to suit the needs of the individual.

The successful candidate requires the following;

  • Previous SEN Tutoring and teaching experience
  • UK recognised teaching qualification
  • National Curriculum knowledge for SEN
  • Enhanced DBS
