About this Position As a Site SHE Manager at Henkel, you’ll lead the implementation of Safety, Health, Environment, and Sustainability practices to ensure legal and corporate compliance. This role is central to fostering a proactive safety culture, protecting people and assets, and driving continuous improvement across site operations.
What you’ll do
- Lead and coordinate SHE strategy and activities at site level, ensuring alignment with Henkel standards and local regulations
- Manage SHE management systems (ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001), ensuring audit readiness and continuous improvement
- Conduct and oversee risk assessments (e.g., HIRA, HAZOP, JSA) and implement mitigation measures for chemical processes, equipment, and working conditions
- Promote a proactive safety culture through employee engagement, training, campaigns, and behavior-based safety programs
- Investigate incidents and near misses, lead root cause analyses, and ensure corrective actions are implemented and shared
- Oversee emergency preparedness and response planning, including drills and scenario testing
- Ensure contractor SHE compliance through onboarding, training, and permit-to-work systems
- Monitor and report SHE KPIs using digital tools, analyze trends, and support data-driven decision-making
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed SHE into daily operations and project planning
- Support audits, inspections, and crisis management activities at the site
- Ensure full compliance with Brazilian SHE legislation, including all applicable NRs
- Lead PGR/GRO development, legal risk inventory updates, and mandatory occupational hygiene assessments
- Manage compliance with SESMT, CIPA and eSocial events (S-2210, S-2240, S-2220)
- Oversee legal requirements for emergency systems (AVCB/Fire Brigade), confined space, work at height, and critical equipment inspections
- Ensure environmental compliance with Brazilian licensing, waste tracking (MTR/CADRI), emissions/effluent controls, and hazardous chemicals management
- Coordinate interactions with Brazilian authorities (Ministério do Trabalho, Corpo de Bombeiros, IBAMA/CETESB).
What makes you a good fit
- Degree in Engineering, Environmental Science, or Occupational Health & Safety
- 3+ years of SHE experience in chemical or process industries
- Strong knowledge of SHE regulations, risk assessment, and incident investigation
- Certified in SHE (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH, CSP); internal auditor experience preferred
- Skilled in stakeholder engagement, coaching, and influencing without authority
- Proactive, resilient, and committed to continuous improvement and sustainability
- Bachelor’s and/or Masters degree in Science or Engineering with 5+ years of SHE leadership in a manufacturing
- Proficient in MS Office and SAP; experience in fact-based decision-making and digital quality tools is a plus
- Fluent in English and Portuguese
- Strong knowledge of Brazilian NRs, environmental regulations, fire authority requirements, and eSocial obligations
- Experience implementing PGR/GRO, occupational hygiene programs, and legal compliance audits
- Familiarity with emergency and environmental legal requirements (AVCB, Brigada, MTR/CADRI, licensing)
- Ability to interface effectively with regulatory agencies and technical authorities
- Experience managing compliance for critical operations (NR-10, NR-12, NR-13, NR-20, NR-33, NR-35)
