What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Analyze, audit, reconcile, and resolve payroll processing and employee payroll issues
- Ensure compliance with company policy, GAAP, and applicable regulations in payroll reporting and payments
- Investigate and resolve tax, withholding, and wage/hour issues for payroll processing
- Prepare and submit quarterly and yearly Federal and State Tax Returns
- Improve and streamline payroll processes while mentoring less experienced staff
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business, or professional experience in payroll or accounting
- Strong understanding of accruals, debits, and credits
- Experience with at least one payroll system
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- In-depth understanding of the end-to-end payroll cycle and its translation to general accounting systems
- Experience with databases and familiarity with queries
- Highly organized with keen attention to detail
- Previous experience in a payroll analyst role or similar position
- Knowledge of financial systems and their applications in payroll processing
