Role Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Network / Security Engineer with senior level experience to support enterprise and operational environments. This role blends engineering, architecture, policy optimization, and environment modernization across security platforms and network segmentation initiatives. The ideal candidate is comfortable working in distributed teams, documenting technical solutions, and collaborating with leadership and cross‑functional stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Security Engineering & Operations
- Configure, deploy, and optimize network and security platforms.
- Perform policy tuning, rule analysis, and cleanup across firewalls or segmentation tools.
- Support platform migrations, integrations, and environment upgrades.
- Troubleshoot network and security incidents and performance issues.
- Contribute to security architecture reviews and design improvements.
- Assist with segmentation strategies (network zones, VLANs, Zero Trust, or similar models).
- Evaluate tool effectiveness and recommend enhancements or replacements.
- Improve existing environments, not only greenfield builds.
- Participate in modernization efforts and cross‑platform transitions.
- Conduct technical assessments and propose optimization plans.
Documentation & Governance
- Produce architecture diagrams, runbooks, and policy documentation.
- Support internal compliance, audits, or framework alignment (e.g., NIST or similar standards).
- Deliver gap analyses and technical reports to stakeholders.
- Work closely with security leadership, operations teams, and business units.
- Collaborate with other engineers across time zones.
- Clearly explain technical decisions and risks to non‑technical audiences.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in network or security engineering roles.
- Strong hands‑on experience with security platforms, firewalls, or visibility / segmentation tools.
- Proven experience in policy optimization, migrations, and environment tuning.
- Knowledge of network segmentation concepts and access control strategies.
- Ability to create clear technical documentation and architecture diagrams.
- Experience working with remote or distributed teams aligned to US time zones.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Vendor certifications (e.g., firewall, security, or network certifications).
- Experience with Zero Trust models, perimeter security, or OT / ICs security environments.
- Familiarity with governance or compliance frameworks.
- Comparative experience with multiple security or monitoring tools.
- Exposure to data pipelines, SOC integrations, or cross‑platform ecosystems.
