Salesforce Architect is a senior technical leader responsible for designing and overseeing the implementation of scalable, secure, and high‑performing solutions on the Salesforce platform. This individual will translate complex business requirements into robust technical architectures, guide development teams, and ensure that Salesforce initiatives align with the overall enterprise architecture strategy. They will possess deep expertise across various Salesforce clouds and products, acting as a trusted advisor to both business stakeholders and technical teams on all architectural aspects of the Salesforce ecosystem.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and architectural oversight of complex Salesforce solutions, including Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Marketing Cloud, CPQ, Field Service Lightning, or other relevant clouds.
• Develop comprehensive architectural blueprints, technical specifications, and design patterns for Salesforce implementations, ensuring adherence to Salesforce best practices and enterprise standards.
• Evaluate existing Salesforce implementations and recommend architectural improvements, refactoring, or re‑platforming strategies for enhanced performance, scalability, and maintainability.

Platform Expertise & Governance

• Have deep understanding of the Salesforce platform's capabilities, limitations, and new features, including declarative (Flow, Process Builder) and programmatic (Apex, Visualforce, LWC, Aura Components) aspects.
• Define and enforce architectural governance, coding standards, and security policies for Salesforce development.
• Conduct technical design reviews and code reviews to ensure quality and architectural adherence.

Integration Architecture

• Design and oversee the integration strategy for Salesforce with other enterprise systems (e.g., ERP, Data Warehouses, external APIs) using various integration patterns (e.g., REST API, SOAP API, Platform Events, MuleSoft, Heroku Connect).
• Ensure data consistency, security, and performance across integrated systems.

Performance, Scalability & Security

• Ensure that Salesforce solutions are designed for optimal performance, scalability, and reliability, considering data volumes, user concurrency, and governor limits.
• Implement robust security models within Salesforce, including OWD, Sharing Rules, Profiles, Permission Sets, and external identity management integrations.
• Champion data privacy and compliance within the Salesforce environment.

Technical Leadership & Mentorship

• Provide technical leadership, guidance, and mentorship to Salesforce developers and administrators, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous learning.
• Stay current with Salesforce releases, certifications, and industry trends, sharing knowledge with the team.

Stakeholder Management & Communication

• Collaborate effectively with business stakeholders, product owners, project managers, and other architects to translate business needs into technical solutions.
• Communicate complex architectural concepts clearly and concisely to both technical and non‑technical audiences, building consensus and trust.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience.
• 8‑10 years of progressive experience in IT, with at least 5+ years specifically focused on Salesforce development and solution design.
• Proven track record as a Salesforce Architect, leading the design and delivery of large‑scale, complex Salesforce implementations.
• Extensive experience with various Salesforce Clouds and a deep understanding of their architectural considerations.

Technical Skills

• Expert proficiency in Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and Aura Components.
• Deep understanding of the Salesforce data model, security model, and declarative automation tools (Flow, Process Builder).
• Strong knowledge of Salesforce APIs, integration patterns, and best practices for connecting Salesforce with other systems.
• Experience with Salesforce DX, version control systems (Git), and CI/CD pipelines for Salesforce.
• Familiarity with enterprise integration patterns and middleware solutions.
• Understanding of large‑scale database concepts and performance optimization within Salesforce.

Soft Skills

• Exceptional strategic thinking, analytical, and problem‑solving abilities, with a strong ability to envision end‑to‑end solutions.
• Proactive, innovative, and a continuous learner, staying at the forefront of Salesforce technology and architectural trends.

Nice to have

• Salesforce Certified Technical Architect (CTA) – highly preferred or active pursuit of this certification.
• Salesforce Certified Application Architect and/or System Architect credentials.
• Experience with multi‑cloud or hybrid‑cloud architectures involving Salesforce.
• Familiarity with Mulesoft, Heroku, or other integration platforms.
• Experience with data migration strategies and tools for Salesforce.
• Understanding of data warehousing, business intelligence, and analytics integration with Salesforce.
