Job Description

Our Networks Consultant role encompasses the lead technical advisor responsibilities for interfacing with our valued clients on large scale, multi-site global projects to develop and deploy robust network solutions. The Networks Consultant will interact directly with key internal and external contacts on the deployment and rollout of network infrastructure and security related efforts. These projects will be specific to enabling a Connected Enterprise by connecting the Industrial Internet of Things at our key global customer facilities.

The Network and Security Consultant take part in the development, sales and delivery of Network and Security solutions for Rockwell Automation customers. The primary focus include sales support, consulting, assessing current state, developing remediation plans, implementing solutions, and providing long term maintenance of a customer's manufacturing infrastructure.

Consulting performed within the national territory to accelerate Rockwell Automation's growth in products, solutions, and services. The consulting practices generate rapid growth and also support growth of remediation activities performed by other technical department from our business areas, and partners.

Your Responsibilities
  • You will develops appropriate network-based solutions to address problems of systems integration, compatibility, and challenges in using multiple platforms.
  • You will Translates business needs into technical system solutions taking various factors into account.
  • Performs feasibility analysis of potential future projects. Responsible for the technical correctness and completeness of system designs. Integrates network hardware, software and interfaces to form a system. Recommend products that will evolve the organization's technical infrastructure. Provides ideas to further enhance business offerings and drive consistency.
  • Design, implement and support key global customers' converged business and manufacturing/industrial networks and user needs in parallel with their overall business strategies.
  • Write detailed documentation that could include customer requirements, system specifications, observed issues with remediation recommendations or implementation plans in order to develop or modify manufacturing infrastructure.
  • Design, recommend, and implement network infrastructure and associated configuration changes.
  • Design customer secure manufacturing architectures and provide vision, problem anticipation, and problem-solving ability to customers.
The Essentials – You Will Have
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Industrial Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technology-driven field. If no degree, 3+ years of experience in Manufacturing Control Systems, Network Engineering, and Industrial Security Controls.
  • 3+ years of hands‑on experience configuring IT/OT network infrastructure equipment (Cisco Switches, Virtual Server Environments, Firewalls, Anti‑Virus Software).
  • In‑depth understanding of Ethernet/IP and CIP protocol.
  • Experience with distributed FactoryTalk Architecture.
  • Knowledge of CPwE (Converged Plantwide Ethernet) and IEC 62443 directives.
  • Experience with relational and temporal databases.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies, Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI), and backup solutions.
  • Previous experience working as part of a large, multi‑disciplinary global team completing full project life‑cycle implementations.
  • Must demonstrate intermediate/advanced English skills, including reading, writing, and verbal communication.
  • Travel Requirements: Flexibility for travel 70% – 80% is required and can include both domestic and international trips.
  • Valid driver's license
The Preferred – You Might Also Have
  • Hands‑on' experience in assessing, designing, and deploying network infrastructure in environments including process automation, discrete controls, and automated manufacturing processes / equipment.
  • Experience in designing and deploying network infrastructure (switches, routers, firewalls, servers etc.) within an Industrial Network
  • Solid technical skills with various Ethernet protocols including EtherNet/IP, specifically around assessment, design and implementation of complex systems.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects / interactions, and ability to interact with various global teams, clients and vendors including those in international regions.
  • Ability to stand up and configure firewalls from various vendors including the latest Cisco FirePower / Fortinet platforms
  • Familiarity with a variety of networking and security concepts, practices, and procedures, to include manufacturing and enterprise network convergence, network protocols, communication optimization, application effects on system performance and human exploitation techniques on the manufacturing network.
  • Experience in developing and deploying solutions in a virtual environment.
  • Experience in PLC, Networking and SCADA design/programming including data extraction and data analysis.
  • Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, VMWARE, Nutanix, NSE will be well evaluated.
