As a Software Engineer on the Engineering team in Brazil, you will be a member of Uber's development center in LATAM, developing products across Uber and around the world.
About the teams:
- Consumer Merchandising team: Uber started by transporting people from place to place. It now transports nearly anything a customer could want or need, on-demand. Grocery & Retail is one of the largest growth areas for Uber, bringing on-demand grocery delivery to Uber Eats customers worldwide.
- Grocery and Retail team: focuses on building the end-to-end Grocery shopping experience, enabling customers to discover and shop for merchants and items they love.
- Storefront team: provides delightful shopping experiences and helps users discover items within the Grocery & Retail storefront.
- Social and User-Generated Content team: aims to make the app more social by creating experiences for content creators and communities, including features like video flows and influencer-made lists.
- Early User Growth team: focuses on meeting users where they are through partnerships and enhancing early user experiences, including platform integrations like with Instacart.
What you will do:
- Write high-quality, reliable, readable, efficient, and testable code, conduct code reviews, and create comprehensive tests and documentation.
- Participate in on-call rotations and troubleshoot production incidents following best practices.
- Monitor product quality in production, identify, triage, and fix bugs and inefficiencies.
Basic qualifications:
- Knowledge of data structures, algorithms, programming, and frameworks (e.g., C, C++, Java, Python, Golang).
- Advanced English proficiency.
- Recent bachelor graduate in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, expected to conclude between September 2024 and December 2025.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience in software engineering through work, education, coursework, or research.
- Ability to understand requirements and translate them into system designs.
