Overview

A healthcare client is seeking multiple Data Engineers to join a growing team. The project involves modernizing on-prem SQL warehouses to Snowflake, lifting and shifting existing data marts, building new data marts, and integrating data pipelines. The data engineering team designs, tests, deploys and maintains data pipelines and supports a strong data reporting environment in an AWS environment with DevOps support.

This position is a 6-month contract with a high likelihood of extension, and a larger pipeline of project work is anticipated for the next three years. Insight Global offers full benefits while on contract.

Core Responsibilities

• Build and maintain ETL pipelines to automate ingestion from APIs, files, and vendor systems.
• Develop and optimize SQL stored procedures, scheduled jobs, and views in cloud data warehouses.
• Apply data governance and quality checks to ensure dataset accuracy and consistency.
• Collaborate with technical staff and SMEs to document sources, transformations, and dependencies.
• Support reporting by delivering clean, structured datasets for BI tools.
• Provide knowledge transfer to internal teams for sustainability post-engagement.

Responsibilities in the current environment: Snowflake, DBT, SQL; Agile methodologies; operational monitoring of data jobs; pipeline maintenance; warehouse operations; incident response; collaboration; process optimization; documentation and reporting.

Required Skills

• Strong experience with Microsoft Azure (Data Factory, SQL Database, Blob/Data Lake) and advanced SQL (stored procedures, jobs, indexing, views).
• Proven ETL development experience (batch + scheduled pipelines).
• Solid understanding of data governance, lineage, and quality frameworks.
• Familiarity with Power BI data models (not visualizations).
• Excellent communication skills for collaboration and mentoring.
• Experience with Snowflake, DBT, and SQL in enterprise environments is preferred.

Nice-to-Have

• Experience in healthcare IT data (helpful, but not required).
• Hands-on experience with Alteryx, data transformation tools, and AWS integration.
