Key responsibilities
- Provide operational leadership in the development and delivery of high-quality, inclusive clinical education for the nursing workforce, working with the nursing, workforce, and Integrated Education leadership teams.
- Lead the Clinical Education Nursing (Post-registration) team across all sites, ensuring effective and efficient use of resources to drive improvements in clinical practice and patient care.
- Ensure education and development initiatives are aligned with Trust priorities and national standards.
- Oversee continuous assessment of educational needs and evaluation of programmes to deliver measurable improvements in care quality and workforce capability.
- Deputise for the Head or Deputy Head of Clinical Education (Nursing and Midwifery) to represent the Trust in internal and external educational forums; maintain robust governance and champion a culture of professional excellence and continuous learning.
Qualifications and Experience
- Essential: First level Registered Nurse with Nursing and Midwifery Council (UK)
- Essential: Bachelor's degree in Nursing or equivalent
- Essential: Postgraduate Certificate in Education
- Essential: Leadership/management qualification
- Essential: Evidence of extensive experience in clinical education
- Essential: Evidence of advanced facilitation, coaching, and mentorship skills
- Essential: Evidence of monitoring and reporting on impact and outcomes of education activity
- Essential: Evidence of standardising workplace practices and clinical governance
- Essential: Evidence of successful autonomous working
- Essential: Evidence of ongoing learning and development
- Desirable: Masters qualification
- Desirable: Publication/presentation of research activity
- Desirable: Research activity in relation to clinical education and/or practice development
- Desirable: Finance/budgetary knowledge and related systems
- Desirable: Extensive experience facilitating partnership working
- Desirable: Project management experience
