Job Summary (in List Format):
  • Oversee daily operations of the workshop to ensure efficiency and high-quality standards.
  • Manage and lead a team of technicians ensuring work is performed safely and to required standards.
  • Schedule and prioritize tasks and jobs based on customer requirements and operational needs.
  • Ensure availability and maintenance of workshop tools, equipment and inventory supplies.
  • Coordinate with the Sales team, purchasing department and other stakeholders to meet customer demands and ensure timely job completion.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organized workshop environment enforcing safety protocols and compliance with company policies.
  • Keep accurate records of workshop activities including work orders, job costing and invoicing.
  • Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with customers during the repair process and addressing any concerns.
  • Promote and sell service agreements to customers.
  • Share responsibility with the service manager for workshop P&L and assigned service area performance.
  • Handle warranty claims and ensure technical staff receive relevant training.
  • Requires a Bachelors degree in business management or related field with at least 5 years experience in marine workshop management.
  • Must possess strong leadership, organizational, communication and computer skills with knowledge of marine engines and components.
