Position Summary

The general role for the VMC Machine Operator is to measure each large and small component to ensure they will fit together properly in the final design as well as to identify potential problems by understanding machine specifications and drawings before the production process. It shall be noted that LIN SCAN has subsidiaries around the world and although the Turner reports to the Production supervisor, the responsibility of the Turner is to ensure that all tasks related to his scope of work are executed according to the HSE standards and in accordance with the plan, corporate standards and policy approved by the Corporate Office.

Key Responsibilities & Authorities

• To produce machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies.
• Capable to do the programming of operating with three axis machines (X, Y, Z)
• Make programs by Master CAM or any other software
• Capable of operating Fanuc & Siemens controls.
• Required sufficient knowledge of VMC Machines (3‑axis & 4‑Axis).
• Able to do trouble shooting of VMC machines for daily base minor issues.
• To translate instructions into computer commands so the machines can perform the correct function.
• To measure each large and small component to ensure they will fit together properly in the final design.
• Inspect and measure finished products and compare them with requirements to determine if the process has been completed properly.
• To identify potential problems by understanding machine specifications and drawings before the production process.
• To manufacture metal components and assemble them to construct tools, industrial machinery, and machine components.
• Able to maintain safe operation of the machines without any damage to machines.
• To take accurate measurements.

Skills/Experience

• High School Diploma or equivalent education level
• Stress resistant
• Good verbal communication skills (in English – desirable)
• Creative, critical and curious.

Physical And Mental Requirements

• Lifting and Carrying: Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Mobility: Must be able to walk and climb to perform duties, including maneuvering within a refinery or plant environment and accessing elevated platforms via ladders and stairwells.
• Communication: Sufficient clarity of speech and hearing, or other communication capabilities, to communicate effectively.
• Focus and Multitasking: Ability to maintain focus and multitask effectively.
• Safety Equipment: Must be able to wear safety equipment as required by the safety department for personal protection, if/where needed in manufacturing environments.
• Personal Mobility and Reflexes: Sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, with or without reasonable accommodations, to perform office duties and travel to off‑site locations when necessary.
