TikTok is seeking an experienced Tax Manager in Dubai who will become an integral part of our global Tax Department. In this role, you will be responsible for tax matters in the Middle East & Africa Region, including but not limited to corporate income tax compliance, indirect tax compliance, tax planning, and tax audit. The Tax Manager will face countless challenges and will have plenty of learning and growth opportunities.
Responsibilities
Assist in tax compliance requirements and procedures in the Middle East and Africa countries.
Act as a point-of contact with the local Tax Authority and Tax Advisor, handle and manage the local tax compliance, filing, including value added tax ("VAT"), digital service Tax ("DST"), Corporate Income Tax, withholding tax filing procedures.
Monitor and analyze proposed and newly enacted tax legislation, regulations, and judicial decisions that impact the company operations and financial positions.
Take ownership of tax validation, data reconciliation, VAT General Ledger accounts review on input tax and output tax matching with the tax return(s), identify tax compliance issues/red flags and provide recommendations/practical solutions.
Preliminary review of draft monthly/quarterly/annual local tax returns prepared by external advisors.
Support tax team to conduct periodical tax compliance checks on business units and highlight areas of exceptions with document compliance requirements.
Support in conducting tax training sessions with various stakeholders as and when required.
Provide tax advice/support on various service lines/business projects.
Minimum Qualifications
4+ years of progressive tax working experience in Middle East/Africa region, with large MNC/Big4.
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Taxation (or professional qualifications).
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment independently.
Detail-oriented individual, a good team player, honest, adaptable, keen learner, diligent, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Fluent in professional English, due to systems usage and review of financial documents and reports as well as stakeholder communication in English-speaking countries and regions.
Preferred Qualifications
TMT/technology industry working experience.
Sufficient tax experience in any other African countries.
Solid international tax knowledge/practice and analytical skills.
