Job summary

A leading engineering firm in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer/Civil Coordinator to oversee civil engineering coordination for 220kV and 33kV GIS substations. The ideal candidate will have 10-15 years of experience with TRANSCO or utility projects, a Bachelor's or Master's in Civil/Structural Engineering, and proficiency in ETABS and SAFE. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills are essential. This role requires full-time on-site work in the Abu Dhabi office.

Job description

Were looking for an experienced Structural Engineer/Civil Coordinator to oversee civil engineering coordination for 220kV and 33kV GIS substations (ESF area). The ideal professional will have 10-15 years of experience working with consultants or contractors on recently completed 220kV or 400kV substations within TRANSCO/utility projects

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Coordinate civil engineering scope for substation infrastructure foundations cable trenches equipment pads and structure integration.
• Review and validate civil designs (ETABS/SAFE) interfacing closely with substation layout electrical and structural teams to ensure constructability and compliance.
• Liaise with consultants contractors and TRANSCO stakeholders through site execution and handover phases.
• Provide inputs for foundation design soil investigation review and civil detailing aligned with TRANSCO standards.
• Support project planning progress tracking and preparation of civil deliverables including RFQs BOQs and interim reports.
• Maintain high quality control standards and ensure all civil execution meets technical specifications and safety guidelines.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS

• 10-15 years of relevant experience in civil coordination for high-voltage substations (220kV or higher) preferably within TRANSCO projects.
• Bachelors or Masters in Civil / Structural Engineering.
• Proficiency in ETABS and SAFE is mandatory.
• Available to work on-site full-time in the Abu Dhabi office.
• Excellent coordination communication and stakeholder management skills.
