Job summary

A leading Main Contracting Company in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced Civil / Structural Draughtsman to work on prestigious VVIP villa and mansion projects. The ideal candidate will have a diploma or degree in Civil or Structural Engineering and at least 6 years of experience, with a proven track record in the UAE. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit is required, along with the ability to work independently. This position offers an initial 3-6 month contract with the possibility of transitioning to a permanent role.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 years of recent progressive experience, with at least 3 years in the UAE.
• Experience working on Villas and Mansions projects is preferred.
• Strong knowledge in RCC frames, structural steel, and rebar.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed structural drawings, layouts, and shop drawings.
• Develop and update AutoCAD/Revit structural models.
• Coordinate with structural engineers, architects, and MEP teams.
• Produce reinforcement detailing for slabs, beams, and foundations.
• Review IFC drawings and highlight discrepancies.
• Ensure drafting work aligns with project schedules and quality requirements.

Our Tier 1 Main Contracting Client has a new requirement for a well experienced Civil / Structural Draughtsman to join their team in Abu Dhabi to work on high profile new VVIP Villa and Mansion projects. Successful candidates will have a proven background as a Structural Draughtsman with strong knowledge in RCC frames, structural steel and rebar working on high profile villa and mansion projects in the UAE with preference given to those with prior experience working for recognised Main Contracting Companies This role is available for immediate joining and is an initial 3-6 Month Contract position employed as an outsource candidate through J10 Consulting. There is an option at 6 months to transfer to staff if it suits all parties.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed structural drawings, layouts, and shop drawings based on engineering designs and project specifications.
• Develop and update AutoCAD/Revit structural models in compliance with local authority standards (Dubai Municipality, UAE codes).
• Coordinate with structural engineers, architects, and MEP teams to ensure drawing accuracy and design consistency.
• Produce reinforcement detailing (rebar drawings) for slabs, beams, columns, shear walls, and foundations.
• Review IFC drawings, tender documents, and highlight discrepancies or design conflicts.
• Ensure all structural drafting work is aligned with project schedules and quality requirements.
• Maintain proper documentation and version control of drawings throughout the project lifecycle.
• Assist site teams by providing as-built drawings and resolving technical drawing queries.
• Follow strict UAE construction standards and safety compliance in drafting works.

Structural CAD Draughtsman Experience

• Diploma or degree in Civil or Structural Engineering
• Minimum 6 years of recent progressive experience (at least 3 years in the UAE with recognised Main Contracting companies)
• The ideal candidate must have strong CAD draughting experience, ideally working on Villas and Mansions projects
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit and MS Office
• Ability to communicate clearly in English
• Ability to work under own initiative to meet deadlines and submissions.
