Role description

• You will technically own, discover, position, prove and deliver key technical elements of a sales cycle to achieve a technical win within medium to large scale and complex customer environments.
• You will be an advocate and ambassador for Splunk through professional social media, industry and marketing events, and supporting pipeline generation activities.
• You will collaborate with customer contacts, building them into Splunk champions, helping them understand how Splunk solves challenging problems and achieves their objectives.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate Splunk products and services to customers on site, remotely via webinars, and at field events such as conferences and trade shows.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships throughout the sales cycle with all levels within the customer.
• Travel to visit prospects and customers, engaging in onsite customer work when required.
• Answer complex technical and competitive questions, addressing customer concerns for a successful outcome.
• Have experience with discovering pain, building champions and determining value with customers.
• Be comfortable working for a dynamic technical organization with a rapidly expanding customer base.
• Collaborate with multiple Account Managers to explore opportunities simultaneously, driving discovery calls and evaluating prospects to identify promising next steps.

Helpful technical skills or experience

• Domain knowledge in data platform for security and/or observability.
• Knowledge of AI tools and concepts (LLMs, MCP, Time Series models, GenAI frameworks, etc.).
• Hands‑on experience in IT infrastructure, Cloud Technologies, Application Delivery, Business Analytics, Log Management, Observability, and IT Security.
• Insights in IT Operations: Experience with ITSM tools and ITIL processes such as incident, problem, and change.
• Understanding of IT Monitoring, Security Monitoring and Observability—including experience with tools for infrastructure, application performance (APM), and security event monitoring (SIEM) across logs, metrics and traces.
• Modern application architecture (microservices): Understanding or experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and/or Lambda/serverless.
• Familiarity with DevOps concepts and hands‑on experience in engineering/software development, using modern programming languages such as Java, Python, PHP, .NET, Ruby, js, Go, etc.
• Preference for knowledge of Splunk security portfolio or equivalent industry knowledge, including Splunk SIEM, threat hunting & detection, investigation, and response lifecycle.
