Job summary

Job description

As Head Sommelier – Retail (Wine/Spirits) you will drive wine strategy, enhance guest experiences, and lead a luxury‑hospitality team across the United Arab Emirates.

Responsibilities
  • Curate diverse, seasonal wine lists that complement menu pairings.
  • Manage wine inventory, rotate stock, and maintain optimal storage conditions.
  • Train and coach front‑of‑house staff on wine service, pairing suggestions, and upselling techniques.
  • Analyze sales data, track trends, and recommend procurement decisions that boost revenue.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, sanitation, and quality standards in all wine‑service areas.
  • Collaborate with chefs, beverage managers, and executive leadership to deliver exceptional fine‑dining experiences.
Qualifications & Experience
  • 8–10 years of senior wine‑management experience in luxury hospitality environments.
  • Advanced wine knowledge and certification (e.g., WSET Level 4, Master Sommelier).
  • Proven track record in wine list development, inventory control, and staff training.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and leadership skills.
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic is a plus.
Location & Travel

The position is based in Abu Dhabi, Ajman, or Ras Al Khaimah, UAE. Occasional travel within the UAE may be required.
