Job summary

A global engineering firm in Dubai is seeking a System Quality Manager with experience in quality control for the railway sector. Job description
Overview

Internal: System Quality Manager Sub-system Manager Depot Manager. External: Clients or their representative external suppliers.

Responsibilities
  • For Failures and Retrofit activities:
  • Perform Quality control activities for rolling stock retrofit scope.
  • Perform fleet wide inspections as per the defined containment action and agreed monitoring scope.
  • Maintain all Quality control records for retrofit activities and fleetwide containment actions.
  • Ensure documentation updates for all retrofit and fleetwide inspections.
  • Manage the traceability matrix showing the retrofit works planned v/s works completed.
  • Ensure calibration of all working tools and maintain the register.
  • Familiar with special processes like torque tightening.
  • Ensure tools and materials/chemicals validity used as part of daily works by the RSK team.
  • Report any non-conformity observed during daily activity to the Quality Manager and Subsystem Manager, and follow up for closure.
  • Initiate repair loop by reporting NCR for any hardware failure via Online supplier portal and follow up to obtain inputs from the supplier for final closure.
  • Attend internal meetings with the Quality Manager and Subsystem Manager to provide updates on the progress of daily activities.
  • For Punch/Snag list closure:
  • Perform internal inspection to ensure the punch/snag is closed prior to inviting the customer.
  • Inspect with the customer for final acceptance of punch/snag items on site.
  • Update the rolling stock punchlist on a daily basis.
  • Prepare daily/weekly progress for punch/snag list closure (internally and with the customer).
Qualifications

Educational requirements:

University Degree in Technical/Electrical Electronic Mechanical.

Technical Knowledge / Experience:

  • 1-3 years of experience in quality with railway business; rolling stock experience is mandatory.
  • Knowledge of Quality standard (ISO9001) and quality tools.
  • Good experience in MS Office (Excel and Word).
