Role Overview
The main objective of this role is to ensure the smooth and efficient functioning of the Show Technology Department at Miral Experiences' leisure facilities. The department is responsible for maintaining the Rides, and attractions AVL systems.
The position involves planning, supervising, and monitoring the day-to-day operations, as well as planning preventive and corrective maintenance of show control, projection, audio systems, lighting, AVL network, and special effects across all rides and attractions in all Miral leisure facilities. The focus is on ensuring the highest levels of safety and guest experiences.
This role entails managing the AVL system under the guidance of the Show Technology Senior Manager.

Key Activities
- Conduct daily checks of all Show Technology areas and document the observations.
- Develop a plan for addressing identified issues, while ensuring strict adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Job plans.
- Maintain and improve Preventative Maintenance plans for existing and new rides & attractions, including integration, commissioning, and training.
- Make recommendations for upgrades and training requirements as needed.
- Ensure proper inventory levels for spare parts for all rides & attractions.
- Review AVL drawings as required.
- Ensure that the on-the-job training program for rides & attractions is followed and updated as necessary.
- Utilize the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) to improve maintenance.
- Provide input to improve processes and procedures.
- Provide input for the rides & attractions’ OPEX and CAPEX annually.
- Collaborate with Show Technology Assistant Managers to improve rides & attractions.
- Conduct performance reviews for the team and address disciplinary actions within the team.
- Support and oversee the duty schedule and training schedule of the team.
- Ensure all colleagues within the group are properly trained and use all safety equipment issued, maintaining 100% compliance to reduce workplace injuries.
- Oversee facility/attraction installation processes to meet contract, specification, and drawing requirements.
- Participate in facility/attraction design review processes to communicate operational improvements to designers.
- Participate in refurbishment programs by developing scope, budget, schedule, and ensuring third-party inspections are complete in coordination with the HSE department and acceptance of the facility/attraction.
- Oversee park maintenance operations to achieve objectives for ride maintenance, checks, repairs, costs, guest satisfaction, and sanitation.
- Manage the department recruitment process.
- Procurement of CAPEX and inventory items.
- Track CAPEX & inventory budgets — forecast and variances.
- Implement a comprehensive Preventive Maintenance Program for park rides and equipment.
- Actively seek and implement cost-saving programs to deliver positive financial results.
- Develop and implement Technical Services Department processes, policies, and procedures.
- Coordinate colleagues’ training program (internal and external training and certifications).
- Represent the department in meetings and functions in the absence of the Show Technology Senior Manager.
- Support and oversee the On-Site Show Technology Team.
- Other duties as required.
- Meet divisional goals and metrics and ensure safety, health, and environmental matters are followed.
- Assist in vendor selection and approve all designs ahead of project start up.
- Conduct appraisals for team members and establish their KPIs.
Experience & Qualifications
- Degree in Electronics/Electrical/ IT Engineering or related AVL technical (CTS) qualification.
- 9+ years of experience in the audio-visual industry.
- 3+ years of experience in an AVL technical supervisory role.
- 5+ years of experience in working within the amusement park industry is a plus.
- Hands-on installation experience.
- Possess certifications in AVL methodologies.
- Certification relating to show control programming is a plus.
- Certified Technology Specialist (CTS) is a plus.
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
- Good problem-solving and technical troubleshooting skills.
- Knowledge of AVoIP technologies.
- Knowledge of programming/scripting languages (Lua, JavaScript, etc.).
- Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems preferred.
- Knowledge of networking for AV including VLANs, routing (certification a plus).
- Knowledge of at least one control system programming environment (Q-SYS Control, Medialon, Alcorn McBride, etc.).
- Knowledge of at least one Audio DSP platform (Q-SYS and Media Metrix preferred).
- Knowledge of Alterface & Attraktion system is a plus.
